Rana, Genelia @ Malaysia for Naa Ishtam

Rana Daggubati, Genelia’s new film Naa Istam is progressing in Malaysia from past one month. The Malaysian schedule will be wrapped up by 10th July as per the film-makers information. Few vital scenes, action episodes and a song have been canned recently in and around Kuala Lumpur.

Naa Ishtam is a romantic comedy entertainer directed by Prakash Tholeti and produced by Parachuri Kireeti on United Movies banner. Chakri is composing the music for the film. The film also casts Harshavardhan Rane in an important role. Rana is sporting a new look in the film and the Leader actor will be showcasing his dancing skills through Naa Ishtam.

Vara Prasad Potti Prasad releasing on July 9th

Srinivas Avasarala and Vijay Sai starrer Vara Prasad Potti Prasad is slated for a release on 9th July.

Vara Prasad Potti Prasad is a comedy entertainer directed by Satya Varanasi and produced by Harsha Reddy on Geo Media Arts banner. The film has completed its censor formalities and earned Clean U certificate.

Priyanka and Priya Ahuja played the leading ladies in the film. Music is by Sri karthik while cinematography is by Bala. The film-makers opined that the film entertains all sections of the audiences.

Vara Prasad Potti Prasad is simultaneously made in three languages Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

Vikram’s Nanna to hit the screens on 15th July

Vikram’s new film Nanna is gearing up for its release in Telugu and Tamil versions simultaneously on 15th July. Nanna is the dubbed version of the Tamil film Deiva Thirumugal, which is being directed by Vijay.

The Telugu version of the film is produced by Santosham studios and Wellfare creations. GV.Prakash has composed the music which is earning positive response. Vikram will be seen in the role of a mentally challenged man and Anushka in the role of a lawyer. Vikram’s performance will be the highlight of the film and scenes between Vikram and Baby Sarah are heart-touching, informs the film-makers.

Karthi, Anushka’s bilingual film

Actor Karthi is all set to act in a bilingual film to be made in Telugu and Tamil versions in the direction of Suraj. The film is an out and out commercial entertainer Leggy lass Anushka is selected as the female lead in this film.

It is noteworthy to mention that Anushka has shared the screen space with Suriya in Singam and now the actress is pairing up with his brother Karthi in this new untitled film. Anushka is currently acting in Nagarjuna starrer Damarukam in Telugu.

Sunil in Veerabhadram’s direction

Comedian turned hero Sunil is set to act in the direction of Veerabhadram Chowdary, who earlier directed Allari Naresh starrer Aha Naa Pellanta that has completed 100 days of its run.

Anand Prasad will produce this new film. He has earlier produced Gopichand’s Wanted which resulted as a disaster. Other details of the cast and crew of the film are yet to be finalized.

Veerabhadram has earlier approached Nagarjuna with a script and though Nag was impressed with the story, the star was could not allocate his call sheets by being busy his other commitments. So, the director has moved on with another new script with Sunil in the lead.

Dookudu still left with 40 days schedule!

Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the Dookudu shoot, which is progressing at brisk pace in Hyderabad. The film-makers initially planned to release the film in the month of August on Mahesh’s Birthday [9th August].

But the film is yet to complete 40 days of the shoot and the present circumstances seem that Dookudu might not release even in the last week of August and will postpone to September. However, Srinu Vytla and the producers of the film are in plans to wrap up the film at the earliest.

Samantha is playing the leading lady in this action cum comedy entertainer. Dookudu is being produced by Achanta Ram, Achanta Gopinath and Anil Sunkara under 14 Reels Entertainment banner.

Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Shiyji Shinde, Brahmaji, Vennela Kishore et al are playing other prominent roles in Dookudu.

Ram Charan, Tamannah flies to Srilanka

Ram Charan is all set to fly to Srilanka along with his Racha unit for a new schedule that commences from 3rd July.

A song on the lead pair Ram Charan and Tamannah will be canned in Srilanka. Earlier the unit has completed 5 days of schedule in Hyderabad.

Director Samapath Nandi and cinematographer Sameer Reddy had recently visited Srilanka to scout the locales for the song to be canned. The Mega Power Star is said to be happy with the young director Sampath Nandi’s work. Racha is being produced by N V Prasad and Paras Jain under Mega Supergood Films banner. RB Choudary is presenting the film.

Sources are abuzz that a song from Chiranjeevi’s Gang Leader is being remixed in Racha by music director Mani Sharma.

Sri Rama Rajyam shoot completed; audio launch in August

Nandamuri Bala Krishna, Nayanatara starrer Sri Rama Rajayam has wrapped the entire shoot of the film and will step into the post-production phases.

This mythological epic has taken shape in the hands of veteran director Bapu. Yalamanchali Saibabu has produced the film on Sri Saibaba movies banner.

Music director Ilayaraja is said to have recorded 8 songs in total for the film including the bit songs. The makers are planning to launch the audio on a grand scale in August. Sri Rama Rajayam also has a huge star cast such as Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Srikanth, Sai Kumar, Murali Mohan, Jayasudha etc..

Kajal’s special song in Eega

Rajamouli’s Eega which was initially considered as medium budget is turning out to be huge budget one. The film-makers have admitted on its high budget and among the budget 5 Crores is being spent on the stunning and unique visual effects of the film.

Rajamouli is said to be adding commercial elements to pull off the high budget. The latest buzz is Kajal Agarwal is roped in for a special number in the film. It is known tha Rajamouli has given a good break to Kajal in the form of Magadheera which made her reach the top league position. RR Movie Makers to produce English film @ 150 Crores

Tollywood is abuzz that Producer R.Venkat is soon producing an English film on his banner RR Movie Makers with a budget of 150 Crores. The film has been titled as ‘Divorce Invitation’ and is touted as a romantic comedy.

Jonathan Benett, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Nadia Bjorlin will play the lead roles in the film and the other surprising news is S V Krishna Reddy is directing this film. The movie will start rolling its camera from the month of July. Other details of this film along with a formal announcement are expected shortly.

Pawan Kalyan’s tentatively titled film Kaali in the direction of Vishnuvardhan has completed its first schedule in Kolkata. The major part of the film has been wrapped up in Kolkata. The next schedule will commence from July in RFC, Hyderabad.

Sarah Jane Dias and Anjali Lavania are playing the leading ladies in the movie, also marking their debut in Tollywood. The movie is being made on mafia backdrop and the Power Star will be seen in a new look Kaali. Neelima and Shobhu Yarlagadda are producing the film jointly on Sanghamitra Arts and Arka Media Works banners. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music.

Karthi, Kajal’s Naa Peru Shiva

Karthi, Kajal Agarwal’s Tamil film Naan Mahan Alla is being dubbed in Telugu as Naa Peru Shiva. The audio of the film was launched on 24th June evening in Prasad Labs, Hyderabad.

The audio launch event was attended by Hero Karthi, Producer Gnanavel Raja, Madhura Sridhar, Sahithi et al. Karthi launched the first copy of CD and he is dubbing his own voice for the Telugu version of the film.

Naa Peru Shiva is all about a happy guy, who undergoes a transformation after few incidents affecting his family. Karthi informs that the film is a good hit in Tamil and will remain as a special film in his career. The film is gearing up for its release on 22nd July.

Aruna Shields item song with Naga Chaitanya @ Dhada

Naga Chaitanya, Kajal Agarwal’s Dhada is progressing at rapid pace and is gearing up for its release in the second week of August. Producer Siva Prasad Reddy informs that the audio will be launched grandly in July.

The unit has recently wrapped up the Europe schedule and a fresh schedule involving an item number will be canned from tomorrow [26 June] in Annapurna Studios.

Aruna Shields of Vivek Oberoi’s Prince Fame will shake her leg for the number along with Naga Chaitanya in Prem Rakshith’s choreography. With this, the entire shoot of Dhada gets completed and the film steps into the post-production phases.

Prabhas Rebel resumes from 27th June

Prabhas new film Rebel that has wrapped up a schedule in Hyderabad some time ago will commence its new schedule from 27th June.

Earlier, the film has completed few action sequences Laxman involving Prabhas, Vishal Kaushik and Akash under the supervision of Ram-Lakshman.

Anushka and Deeksha Seth are roped in for the female leads in the film. Rebel is being directed by Raghava Lawrence and produced by J Bhagawan and J Pulla Rao under Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. Thaman is composing the music for the film.

The entire shooting of Rebel will be completed by October and the film is slated for a release in December.

Story:

Mano (Siddharth) performs the last rites of his family on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. He comes across a small boy who is also performing his father’s last rites by playing happily with his toy car. He realizes the philosophy of life and decides not to worry about death but enjoying every day to the fullest.

Mano reaches Chennai and leads a happy life. Vidya (Nithya Menon) is a press reporter gets attracted to Mano and she slowly starts loving him. One fine day Vidya proposes him but Mano negates her due to his dark past. In the meantime, Vidya meets with an accident which forces Mano to take her to US for further treatment. Here comes the flashback of Mano where he is introduced as Ajay (Siddharth), a doctor in San Francisco, America who meets Renuka aka Renu (Priya Anand). In no time both falls for each other and enters wedded life. What is Mano’s dark past? What made Ajay to move away from his loving wife Renu? How is 180 related to the story, is to be watched on the big screens.

Performances:

Siddharth has delivered an outstanding performance. He yet again proved that he is a versatile actor and a heartthrob for urban youth and class audiences. He gave a convincing performance as Mano and Ajay and has excelled in romantic scenes.

Priya Anand looked beautiful and performed picture perfectly. She had more screen space and has done exceedingly well compared to her earlier films.

Nithya Menon has yet again come up in a good role after Ala Modalaindi. She did a good job as a journo and admirer of Siddhath.

Sri Charan as Siddharth’s friend is apt, Mouli deserves applauses, Geetha, Tanikella Bharani and others are adequate.

Technicalities:

Cinematography by Balasubramaniam is a big asset for the film which brings out a realistic feel with some innovative angles. Shot with RED digital camera, it gives us a natural feel, right from the titles, every frame looked stunning and picture perfect. Music by Shareth is blissful and goes well with the story. ‘AJ’ and ‘Nee Maatalo’ are quiet good on screen with Siddharth and Priya’s cool romantic visuals. Background music is fine. Dialogues penned by Subha are good in parts.

The ad film maker turned director Jayendra leaves a mark with his rich visuals right from the word Go. While the storyline moves with expected twists and twirls and strikes you Prabhas Chakram and Nag’s Geethanjali. Jayendra tried to make his mark with the narration moves. The screenplay should have been innovative as the progression of the story is predictable. Editing could have been better in the second half by trimming off some of the dragging scenes.

Analysis:

180 is rich, urbane and stylish movie. The first half of the film keeps you engaged with some interesting moments while the second half is dragging. The emotional sequences have come out well. The plus points of the film are casting (Siddharth, Priya and Nithya Menon), Siddharth’s performance, cinematography and music. The negative points are predictable story and dragging second half. On a whole, 180 is partly good and partly predictable with rich visuals. 180 would have met the expectations if the second half of the film is racy.

Nagaram Nidrapothunna Vela review

Niharika (Charmee) is a young journalist, who works for a news channel and believes in idealism. However, her boss (Ahuti Prasad) desires to raise his TRP ratings with sensational news than bringing in truth to the people. Niharika ventures out one night to gather some sensational news for the channel. Unfortunately, she happens to capture a politician talks with her pen camera that spoils his status if it is aired. The politician sends goons after her and in this process she meets Prasad (Jagapathi Babu). What are the challenges Niharika faces and how will she overcome her problems forms rest of the story.

Performances:

Charmi has delivered a mediocre performance as a journalist and is good in few scenes. But wonder why the actress is giving her nod for meaningless scripts. It’s the time Charmi has to realize and accept the roles that gives her a break.

Jagapathi Babu’s performance is okay but he did not have much importance for the role. Pilla Prasad was apt, Uttej is good, Ahuti Prasad is mediocre, Parachuri Gopalakrishna was acceptable while others hardly had anything to deliver.

Technicalities:

Lakshmi Narasimhan’s cinematography is okay, Yasho Krishna’s music is another backdraw with hardly any song pleasing to ears. The background score is poor. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are pretty weak and seem to have lifted from films like Shivaji, Leader etc. The direction skills of debutant Prem Raj are poor and so is the screenplay which is another minus for the film. Production values are poor and has nothing much to talk of.

Analysis:

Nagaram Nidrapothunna Vela is a message-oriented film with the concept, journalists and media can change the present system and bring in a change in society. The makers need applause for their purpose. But such themes need a taut script and a breathtaking screenplay. Unfortunately, the film suffers from many problems. Right from the word Go, NNV moves with a slow pace and clichéd scenes that ends up as a boring watch on whole.

Ram, Tamannah, Karunakaran’s combo Endhukante

Chantizpopcorn has reported that Ram has accepted a new film in the direction of Karunakaran and the milk white beauty Tamannah is zeroed in for the female lead role. The latest update is the film has been titled as Endhukante.

Endhukante is a romantic love entertainer and is set for a grand launch on 27th June. The film will be produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. Karunakaran maintains his own style in dealing with love stories like Tholi Prema, Ullasanga Utsahanga, Darling etc. The director also showcases his leading ladies in a special way. Venkatesh, who is currently busy with the remake of Malayalam hit film Bodyguard in Telugu with Trisha and Saloni as lady leads in Gopichand Malineni direction, has given his nod for a new film. Venkatesh, who heard a script from director Dasarath has given his green signal for the film.

Now, the latest news is the film will start rolling its camera from the month of October. Paruchuri Kiriti will produce this film, which is touted as a family entertainer in Dasarath’s style. Dasarath has earlier directed Santhosham, Sambaram, Swagatham and Mr.Perfect. Dasarath is giving the final touches to the script and other cast and crew of the film will be finalized shortly.

Sai Ram Shankar IN, Sundeep Kishan OUT

Sundeep Kishan of Prasthanam and Sneha Geetham fame has stepped out of the new film Pantham to be directed by a debutant Chandrasekhar Kaanuri, assistant director of Chandrasekhar Yeleti.

“No I m not doing any film with Director Shekar. I opted out of it. My next will be officially announced,” informed Sundeep Kishan

Instead, Puri Jagannadh’s brother Sai Ram Shankar stepped into the project for the lead role. Pantham will be produced by G.Kumar Babu. Siddhika, a new lady is zeroed in for the female lead role in the film.

Sai Kumar, Rao Ramesh, Ashok Kumar, Pragathi etc all will play other vital roles in the film.

Ala Modalaindi fame director Nandini Reddy has announced that Samantha is the leading lady in her next directorial. Now, the latest buzz in the film-nagar circles is Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja will play the lead in the film.

Singanamala Ramesh arrested in Chennai

Telugu film producer Singanamala Ramesh was arrested in Chennai in the early hours of Friday on charges of threatening a film financier, Jayanth Reddy, police said.

Ramesh, who was evading arrest since the last five months, was held by a team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials at Chennai airport. He is likely to be brought to Hyderabad later in the day.

Sources said the producer was arrested on charges of threatening Reddy, who had complained to police in February this year that Ramesh along with Bhanu Kiran, threatened to kill him in 2008, after he demanded back his Rs.7.2 crore.

Bhanu Kiran is the prime accused in the murder of gangster Maddhelacheruvu Suri, a police source said.

The financier came forward to lodge a complaint after police started looking for Bhanu in connection with Suri’s killing.

Ramesh is also facing charges of cheating proprietor of Shalimar Videos over the video rights of a film “Komaram Puli”.

With the arrest of Ramesh, the police hope to make progress in the investigations into Suri’s killing.

Suri, a politician-turned-gangster from Anantapur district, was gunned down by his close aide Bhanu in Hyderabad Jan 3.

Bhanu himself still remains at large, though police arrested four of his associates.

Suri was the key accused in former Andhra Pradesh minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Paritala Ravi’s murder in 2005.

The factional rivalry between the families of Suri and Ravi drew national attention last year after famous filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma made a film, “Rakhta Charitra”, on their real life story.

The talented and budding Lyricist Kaluva Sai died of heart failure last night [23rd June] in his home town, Giddaluru, Prakasam district. He was just 30 years old. Kaluva Sai shot to fame with Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra movie followed by Katha, Screenplay, Darsakatvam Appalraju.

Kaluva Sai was introduced in the film industry by RGV on the recommendation of JD Chakravarthy with the film Adavi. It is learnt that heavy consumption of alcohol is the reason for his heart failure.

Actor Nikhil’s Disco launched

Nikhil’s new film Disco was launched on 23rd June in Hyderabad. Disco will be directed by a debutant Hari, who has earlier worked as an associate to Puri Jagannath. Macha Ramalinga Reddy and K Abhinav Reddy are producing the film.

Sara Sharma will be seen as Nikhil’s love interest in the film. Disco has music by Mantra Anand, cinematography by Jaswanth, story and dialogues by Sravanthi Satish while screenplay and direction are by Hari K Chanduri. The regular shoot of Disco commences from the month of August.

On the other hand Nikhil’s Veedu Theda under Lakshmi Narasimha Entertainments banner has completed its talkie part and will hit the screens in August.

Naga Chaitanya’s Dhada is one song away!

Naga Chaitanya’s new film Dhada in the direction of a debutant Ajay Bhuyan is progressing at a brisk pace. The unit has wrapped up Europe schedule where a couple of songs have been canned and returned Hyderabad. The entire shooting of the film has been wrapped up except for a song which will be canned in July.

Naga Chaitanya will be seen in an action role as a college student in the film and Kajal Agarwal is playing his love interest. Dhada is being produced by D Siva Prasad Reddy and co-produced by Vishwachandan Reddy on Kamakshi Kala movies banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music.

Gossop-RGV’s Shivudu with Ram Charan?

Gossip winery is abuzz that Mega Power Star Ram Charan Tej is set to act in a new film titled Shivudu, which will take shape in the hands of eccentric director Ram Gopal Varma. Sources are abuzz that Ram Charan is keen in working with RGV and talks on the project are on.

Ram Gopal Varma is also in plans to direct a big film with a top star so as to bounce back strongly in Tollywood. His recent low budget films Dongala Mutha and KSD Appalraju did not play well at the Box-Office.

It is noteworthy mentioning that Varma has started a film earlier with Chiranjeevi but was shelved due to some reasons. Let’s see if his Shivudu with Ram Charan materializes and moves onto the sets…

Ram’s Kandireega gets audio launch and release dates!

Ram’s forthcoming film with cinematographer turned director Santosh Srinivas is progressing at brisk pace. The unit has returned from Switzerland after wrapping up the filming of songs in the exotic locales.

The latest update is the audio of the film will be launched on 30th June while the film will hit the big-screens on 22nd July. Hansika is playing the leading lady in the movie while Aksha is playing second fiddle to her. Colors Swathi is doing a cameo in the movie.

Bellamkonda Suresh is producing the film on Sai Ganesh Productions banner and Thaman has composed the tunes for the film. Kandireega is touted as a romantic comedy entertainer with ample action.

Badrinath’s new promotional strategies

Despite the negative talk and poor reviews of Allu Arjun, Tamannah starrer Badrinath from Day1, the film is gradually doing good show with the steady collections across the state. Badrinath is recorded as the biggest opener of 2011 till date, thanks to the pre-release hype on the film.

The producers and distributors are hoping to gain back their investment by the third week of the film. On the other hand, the production house Geetha Arts, V.V.Vinayak along with the lead cast is promoting the film on a full swing with new strategies and ideas. Earlier, a pilgrim trip is announced for the lucky winners in the contests and now the director has come up with a new idea of bringing down the divine soil of Badrinath temple to the theaters in which the film is running. It is believed that the soil is sacred and has some medicinal values. The makers are hoping to pull down crowds with this new promotional technique…

Bala Krishna’s Sri Rama Rajyam set for August release!

Nandamuri Bala Krishna’s mythological epic Sri Rama Rajyam is set for an August release. The multi-starrer film reached its final leg of shooting and will be completed by 28th June.

Bala Krishna and Nayantara are donning the roles of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita respectively while ANR will be seen in the role of Valmiki. Sri Rama Rajyam is taking shape in the direction of Bapu and Yalamanchali Saibabu is producing it on Sri Sai Baba Movies banner. Ilayaraja has composed the music for the film and the movie is said to have seven songs along with two bit songs.

The audio of Sri Rama Rajyam is expected to launch in the last week of July while the film reaches the big-screens in August.

Venky’s Bodyguard remake progressing in Hyderabad

Venkatesh, Trisha’s third combo film which is the remake of Malayalam super hit Bodyguard is currently progressing in Sivarla, Hyderabad. The previous schedule of the film was shot in Vizag, where few vital scenes are canned.

Saloni is penciled in to play a vital role in the film. Gopichand Malineni of Don Seenu fame is wielding the megaphone for the film while Bellamkonda Suresh, who bagged the remake rights, is producing it on Sri Sai Ganesh Productions banner while Multi Dimension Entertainments is presenting the film. Thaman is composing the music and Kona Venkat has scripted the story and dialogues for the film.

Uday Kiran’s Dil Kabaddi

Uday Kiran is all set to act in a new film titled as Dil Kabaddi that will start rolling its camera from 27th June. Debutant Sri is marking his entry as a director in Tollywood while V. Shiva Kumar is producing it.

Uday Kiran will sport a new look in the film. Dil Kabaddi is touted as a romantic entertainer with action backdrop. The actor is in plans to bounce back in Tollywood with this film by proving his mettle once again.

The actor’s Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta with Swetha Basu Prasad as his lady love is currently in its post-production works and will see its light of the day shortly.

Bala Krishna joins Mahadevanaidu sets from 20th July

Bala Krishna, who is currently busy with his mythological film Sri Rama Rajyam in the direction of Bapu will wrap up the entire shoot of the film by 28th of this month.

The actor will join the sets of Mahadevanaidu for a new schedule from 20th July. Earlier the film has wrapped up few schedules in Vizag, Araku and Hyderabad. Bala Krishna is donning triple roles in the film and will romance three ladies Lakshmi Rai, Saloni and Charmi.

Paruchuri Murali is directing the film and ML Kumar Chowdary is producing it under the banner Kirti Combines. Kalyani Malik is roped in for composing the music.

Mahesh Babu, Samantha starrer Dookudu in the direction of Srinu Vytly is currently filming in Chiran Fort, Hyderabad. Scenes involving Mahesh Babu, Samantha and Prakash Raj are being shot from a couple of days.

Mahesh plays the role of a police informer in the film. The film-makers are quite confident on the way Dookudu is shaping up. Achanta Gopichand, Anil Sunkara and Achanta Ram are producing the film under the 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Thaman is composing the music for the film.

Brahmanandam, Sonu Sood, Vennela Kishore, Thanikela Bharani, Sayaji Shinde, Nazar, Sudha are the other cast on board in this film.

Killer releasing in July1st week

Gadde Sindura’s Killer has wrapped up the post-production works and is finally gearing up for its release in the first week of July. Killer is being directed by Nagesh Naradasi and produced by Kiran on Srinivas Creations banner.

Director Nagesh informs that Killer is a suspense thriller made on forest backdrop and the film is inspired from a real life incident. Gadde Sindhura’s performance will be the highlight of the movie along with Sai Karthik’s music. Cinematography is by Madhu.K.Naidu while editing is by Nandamuri Hari.

Shafi, Tanikella Bharani, Ramireddy, Ravi Prakash, Vijay, Anil, Suman Shetty, et al played other prominent roles in Killer.

Daggaraga Dooramga, Sumanth’s next

Sumanth’s next film touted as a romantic thriller has been titled as Daggaraga Dooramga. Vedika is playing his lady love in the film. The final schedule of the film is progressing currently in Hyderabad, where the climax part and songs will be canned.
